Job Description:
-This role is part of a leading edge IT organization primarily accountable for delivery & Support of web applications. The Web environment is a critical customer facing interaction channel and continues to have significant demand to continuously evolve functionality and add new capabilities for customers and business.
-As Web Infrastructure expert for the Ebusiness & Integration Solutions (EIS) group, you will be part of a global team responsible for the Technical delivery & support of new & existing web capabilities.
-In this role, you will lead / partner with vendors to drive solution Design and provide technical direction in managing support issues & outages.
-You will also work with Vendor partners to ensure that proper architectural standards are understood and adhered. Perform the role of internal consultant to help utilize EIS current technological capabilities and help promote the capabilities through timely introduction of new technology and tools and contribute to the IT Stewardship Program.
-You will also perform technical analysis and evaluation of new technology tools.
Desired:
-With at least 5 years of hardcore Microsoft SQL DBA (2005, 2007) experience with Microsoft Sharepoint /MOSS platform based web application space.
-Responsible for maintaining databases supporting enterprise level web applications and working closely with system architects and developers in a high-availability environment hosted on Windows platform.
-Experience with MS-SQL database integration with Sharepoint applications and performance tuning a must.
-Database Clustering experience a plus.
-MOSS and Network Appliance experience a plus
-Monitoring of database performance; and fine tuning analysis and implementation
-Preparation and maintenance of database documentation
-Defining physical data requirements and other technical entities of the data model of the database
-Develop deployment strategies, scripts and configurations, and performs integration testing
-Responsible for troubleshooting production database problems, including performance, minimizing system downtime, and developing a permanent solution
-Experience in installing Microsoft SQL 2005,2007 DB on windows platforms and any patches
-Capacity planning to ensure sufficient database space for the product
-Recommend procedures for database backups/exports in order to ensure recovery
-Expert level experience in SQL, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, Data Modeling, Logical and Physical Database Design
-Experience with Microsoft technology stack like MOSS, .NET and XML
Windows administration skills:
-Good understanding of Windows operating systems / platforms , kernel parameters, tuning and general administration.
-Windows 2005, 2008
-HA / load balancing tools (heartbeat, DRBD, etc)
-Network monitoring, tuning and benchmarking
-Web & application server administration
-IIS including dynamic load balancing
-Network monitoring, tuning and benchmarking (httperf, Jmeter, other perf tools)
-Certifications in Microsoft SQL DBA, windows technologies desired.
