Requirement: Senior Database Administrator (Oracle 10g, Oracle RAC)

Job Description:
The Oracle DBA will perform database administration and software engineering for multiple large databases .
The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale, massively concurrent, highly available distributed Oracle systems.
Operations
-On-Call Production DBA for all Digital Databases – Daily maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, problem resolution and internal customer/dev support of Oracle environments
-Monitor numerous Oracle databases to optimize database performance, resource use and physical implementations of the databases.
-Problem resolution checking DB bottleneck areas, wait event tuning, SQL tuning. Production support functions such as checking for free space, fragmentation, nightly/weekly backup status, dead-locks.
Engineering
-Database Performance Tuning – Optimizing Databases for performance and scale
-Design, develop, and implement Oracle database instances for the development, test and production environments. .
-Design logical data models, physical database structures, Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts and Data Manipulation Language (DML) scripts as required.
-Create custom scripts in coordination with the Software Engineers for data import and other requirements like correcting software and database defects
Eligibility:B.E/B.Tech, MCA, M.E/M.Tech/MS, M.Sc
Desired:
-Eight plus years Core DBA experience in a large production support environment with minimum terabyte sized databases.
-Performance – Hardcore Experience in database/application performance tuning and advanced knowledge in partitioning and scaling terabyte size databases is essential
-Experience in setup/configuration/maintenance of DB backup solutions including Hot backup, RMAN, Shadow Image or BCV solutions
-Extensive experience in Oracle 10g, Oracle Real Application Clusters and migration/upgrade from lower Oracle versions is required
